A little bit about me…

Sarah Barrett, A Moms Guide to FundraisingWhen I was in junior high, we sold candy bars to pay for uniforms for the drill team. This was 1980s fundraising, small scale and bad for your teeth. Back then parents were rarely involved, and we kids hustled the neighborhood!

Fast forward to the 21st Century.  Fundraising can be much more effective by casting a far wider net, and parents are highly involved with their children’s efforts.

My name is Sarah Barrett and I have been fundraising for my daughters’ school since 2008.  In school years, that’s a lifetime! I am part of a team that has helped raise over $500,000 for our neighborhood school, every year! My success is a repeatable plan, which I now offer to you.

As a former teacher with a Masters in Education, I can see fundraising needs from both sides.  Parents want more for their kids, and teachers need more to equip their students for success.  It doesn’t matter if you’re in a public school or a private school – parents and teachers can agree that we all need more money to give our kids the best education possible. Who’s going to do it? Not the state. Not the school districts. It’s up to us!

I wrote A Mom’s Guide to School Fundraising, and now I’m helping others make a difference too!  I have gotten letters from PTA Presidents and booster club presidents all over the country thanking me for helping them find a better solution. A school in Texas went from making $4,000 on an event to over $30,000 with the help of my book.  Another parent wrote about being so grateful to have the tools and someone to show her how to raise money better, wiser, and often faster!

We can’t rely on school districts and state funding anymore.  Bake sales are simply not enough!  Parents need to do more.  I can help guide you on the path to success.
